Join us as Marcia Rohrer and Nannette Samson present this workshop based on their book, 10 Critical Components for Success in the Special Education Classroom. Using these components as a framework for structuring your special education classroom will improve your students’ ability to learn, decrease misbehavior, and enhance overall student success.  This training will assist teachers in understanding each component and the critical part they play in the success of all students in the areas of academics, behavior, communication, and independence.  Administrators and supervisors learn about each component and how they work in both self-contained and inclusion settings. When teachers properly implement the components in their classrooms they have the framework for using Educational Best Practices daily. The 10 Critical Components are:
1. Physical arrangement of the classroom
2. Organization of materials
3. Schedules
4. Visual strategies
5. Behavioral strategies
6. Goals, objectives, and lesson plans
7. Instructional strategies
8. Communication systems and strategies
9. Communication with parents
10. Related services and other school staff

Participants will be provided practical examples of how to include best practices for all students within their daily classroom routine. This workshop is geared for all Special Education Teachers and Future Teachers, Related Service Providers, Speech Pathologists, Paraprofessionals, and Administrators who work with students with special needs.

Students may attend this training at a discounted rate.  For additional information or student rate, please contact Dianna Griffe at 221-3770 or dgriffe@eastersealsar.com
