The MacArthur CDIs are designed to be completed by parents, following directions printed on the forms. The first inventory is the CDI/Words and Gestures form, which examines the child’s response to language, imitation and labeling skills, communicative gestures, games and routines, actions with objects, pretending to be a parent, and emerging symbolic transformations.
