The Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS-R)

• Allows administrator to identify deficiencies in language, academic, self-help, and motor skills and then implement and monitor individualized intervention

• Birth to 12 years

• Depends on skill level of the child being evaluated and the administrator’s familiarity with the child

• Criterion-referenced assessment based on observation of child’s skills, plus scoring instructions and IEP development guide

• Level C Qualifications Required:
  • MA (psychologist, SLP, OT) A master’s degree (MA, MS, MSW, CAGS) in psychology, school counseling, occupational therapy, speech–language pathology, social work, education, special education, or related field

OR

• • BA (occupational therapist) A bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) in fields listed above & License or certification from an agency/organization that requires training and experience in assessment.
